The trend of cake that has sprung up in several regions in Indonesia, especially celebrity cake, has made PT Sriboga Flour Mill launch a special cake flour called Yokozuna flour cake.

This 1 kg packaging flour is intended for culinary SMEs in Central Java that have existed as well as entrepreneur startups to further develop innovations in cake making.

Rike Sundari Marketing Manager of PT Sriboga Flour Mill said that Semarang City was the first in the launch of Yokozuka flour cake which will then be held in Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bogor, Jakarta, Bandung and Denpasar.

“Deliberately chosen in these cities because from the side of UKM culinary is growing so that they hope to make their business more innovative,” he said on the sidelines of launching products at the Pesonna Hotel Semarang, Thursday (6/9).

Rike explained that Yokozuna flour cake is specially designed for excellence so that the results of the cake are more moist so that it produces a celebrity-style cake with a good taste and very smooth texture.

According to him many people who do not know yet distinguish between regular regular flour with special flour cake so that this new product is no longer wrong in buying flour.

“Be taught not to use the product incorrectly because each wheat flour application is different,” he explained.

Although currently the cake flour market share is not as big as the bread market, Sriboga is optimistic that it will increase as the trend of celebrity cake and other contemporary cakes in Indonesia. Meanwhile for regular Central Java flour accounted for 60 percent of all market shares in Indonesia.

“About 2 to 3 percent of cake for flour consumption in Indonesia is mostly for bread and fried noodles,” he said.

PT Sriboga Flour Mill targets that in 2018 it will reach 20 percent growth especially for cake flour.
