Seeing that opportunity, PT Sriboga Flour Mill launched a special flour cake or cake with the name Yokozuna. The company claims this product is the only flour specifically for baking ingredients.
Sriboga Customer Center (SCC), Customer Care and Training Manager PT Sriboga Flour Mill, Panca Indra Pristiawan said, with the presence of this specialty cake flour product, he hoped to increase the market share of sales in East Java to 7 percent. So far, Sriboga's total market share in East Java is only 20 percent. He said "If we use our products, anyone who wants to make cakes does not need to mix with other flour. So far, there are still mixtures with other flour to fit the cake".
The flour industry, he continued, the competition was very tight. Several years ago, there were only 5 large flour factories in Indonesia. Currently it is increasing to 30 factories. That forces flour producers to innovate so that the company's performance can grow. One of them is by creating a new market niche, which is specialty flour for cakes. Indra said "The cake business is very interesting because the process makes it easy, the shape is more innovative than bread. Interestingly, the benefits are very high. It can reach 300 percent".
He added, currently the production capacity of PT Sriboga Flour Mill reaches 80,000 sacks per day. With factory utilities reaching 85%. Although it is nearing the highest production rate, the company has no plans to increase production capacity or factory machinery. Because the growth of flour production nationally is not significant. Only 5 percent per year. On the other hand, flour producers have enough. He said "What we are doing now is more on how to make product innovations that are in line with the needs of the community".
